Andrea Levoff L'Occitane

I’ve  always struggled with giving holiday gifts. Let me make that clear, I don’t struggle with receiving gifts at all. That part I am really good at. First of all, my to-do list is a mile long and I like to give meaningful gifts, that can sometimes take time to come together. Since my kids have no issues telling me what they want, I guess it’s because you will rarely find an adult that will tell you they need something much less make a suggesting for a gift.

Since having children, there are so many more people I am responsible for buying gifts for, which is great except for when it’s 6:30 the night before the last day of school and I am trying to decide if 19 bottles of wine is appropriate for a kindergarten teacher.

That’s why when I was introduced to L’Occitane’s gift ready sets it was like the pressure of finding the right gift just melted away. Everybody loves receiving their coveted formulas that have a long, rich history in Provence.

Here are some things that I think make L’Occitane so special:

1. I wash my hands no less than 10,000 times in a day. Living in Chicago does not help my dryness and seriously, by March my hands can look pretty rough. It’s not that I don’t have a ton of lotion, it’s that it’s not accessible to me all day. That’s why I love these little bottles.  I keep one in every area of my house, car and purse.

Andrea Levoff, L'Occitane 2. The shower oil is so luxurious. It feels like I’m at a spa even if I’m actually trying to take a 4 min shower before my kids beat down the door.

3. Hearing people try and pronounce the name! Seriously it’s the best.

4. The gifts boxes and adorable ornament are already super festive and cute so no need to spend the extra time or money on wrapping these bad boys.

5. The best part about L’Occitane is that their company is committed to empowering the women of Burkina Faso by giving them economic opportunities. Through business development training, L’Occitane empower 10,000 women in environmentally friendly Shea processing.

I love feeling good about the gifts I’m giving and knowing that this is helping other women who are out there making it happen for their families everyday.

To me, these gift sets are a no brainer for a busy mom on the go. Shop the link above or head into the nearest location to check them out, I think you’ll agree!

1: Image Skincare Vital C Hydrating Overnight Mask

I was recently introduced to Image Skincare by a rep that came to visit Chicago and I am hooked. While I do love all of their products, this overnight mask is on rotation in my routine. I put it on before I got to bed 4 to 5 nights a week and rinse it off with warm water in the morning. My skin is always glowing and feels extra hydrated!

2: Mila Moursi Refining Lotion

I tend to have very dry skin on my forehead and chin area. I have struggled because It normally looks fine without makeup but as soon as I put on a foundation it starts to cake in these areas. This refining lotion improves the texture of my skin after 1 night of use. I normally alternate this and the Overnight Mask and it works wonders for my skin. No more flakey forehead!

3: Image Skincare Ormedic Care Lip

Hands down best lip gloss I have ever used. I need 10 of these to place strategically around my house and car. I put this on every night before I go to bed and my lips always feel amazing in the morning.

4: BY TERRY Cellurose Brightening Serum

This is one of my favorite products right now. Besides loving the absolutely intoxicating smell of the rose oil, this serum leaves my skin super hydrated without feeling oily.

5: SIO Beauty SIO Skinpad

This is a miracle worker for side sleepers! I always wake up with a smooth hydrated decollete area. Now I no longer have to worry about forcing myself to sleep on my back! One pad lasts for 30 days and all you need to do is wash it with soap and water when you wake up then leave it out on your counter to dry for the day.

Dope Ass Mom, Andrea Levoff, Ann Taylor, leopard heels, distressed denim, white blouse, how to style leopard for Fall, fall outfit ideas, mom style for fall 2018

It’s no secret that I love leopard. I seriously consider it a neutral and therefore it goes with everything. Ann Taylor has such a good selection of leopard this season and I wanted to highlight some of my favorite pieces – plus everything is 40% off right now (use code FALLFAVES at checkout). As a busy mom who is always on the go it’s important to me to look stylish but not too fussy. I don’t have the time or patience to worry too much about accessorizing so I like to wear things that are easy and stylish on their own.

I love these leopard pumps with a pair of distressed denim and a white shirt so that they really stand out. These would also look great with jeans and a t-shirt or a simple dress. You really cannot style these wrong. These are a great way to add interest and edge to a simple outfit and bonus: they are super comfortable.

This Leopard sweater is one of my favorite throw-on pieces from this seasons collection. I actually threw this over one of my favorite dresses and paired it with an awesome pair of red booties. Layer this over a crisp white shirt for a colder day or for a more corporate setting. This sweater would also be awesome with jeans or leather pants for a bit more edge.

This trench coat is my absolute fave! The cheetah dots make it so much more interesting than just a regular khaki trench and It’s the perfect weight for travel or those crisp fall days. It looks good over t-shirts or even worn as a shirt if you button it up and tie it all the way. It’s an instant way to elevate a simple outfit without looking too overdone.

All of my selections fit my mom uniform criteria of simple, chic and not so expensive (don’t forget to use code FALLFAVES for 40% off everything!) that I’m going to have a hernia if something is ruined by a spaghetti stain. We all know marinara happens sometimes.

George Salon, Chicago

Did you guys know that I’ve only been a redhead for a short time of my life? I spent most of life as a die-hard blonde. I am not exaggerating when I say die-hard. As any Texas girl knows, we take blonde very seriously. It was truly part of my identity. I’ve been all shades of blonde, but mostly I just loved being a golden goddess. It wasn’t until I found George The Salon that I even considered trying another color.

In May of 2017, I decided to take the plunge and go crimson! I was tired of the same old same old. I was experiencing rapid growth in my personal life and needed my outsides to match my insides.

I’ve developed a very strong relationship with my salon and colorist as you can imagine. To the point of if she ever leaves I will track her down and find her are you listening NICOLE!? I’ve been to salons all over the city in my 13 years in Chicago and I have truly found one that feels like home. George The Salon is probably one of my favorites spots in the city!

George Salon, Nicole Berry

Nicole is the best. Beyond having great technical knowledge, she has great vision. When I first came to her asking her if I could go red, her face lit up before proclaiming YES! We looked at pictures together and talked it through. She was so patient with me coming into the salon and talking about it ad-nauseam until finally, I was ready to take the plunge. ( that’s not to mention all the messages I sent her with pictures and questions) She was always so supportive! I had been thinking about going red for a long time but didn’t feel comfortable implementing it until I met her. Any women will tell you that a good colorist and stylist is as important as hiring the right therapist. And if you’re lucky, you get a two for one deal!

Nicole Berry, George Salon, Andrea Levoff Andrea Levoff, George The SalonI’m not sure if it’s because I’m getting older and possibly more bougie but I love the ambiance of George. It’s very zen and relaxing like a spa almost. Whenever they wash your hair they massage your scalp. They always offer you a blanket and want you to feel as relaxed as possible. One time I even brought my daughter and they managed to make that relaxing. The receptionist offered her crayons and a coloring page of her choice before her appointment. I really can’t say enough about their customer service!

Michelle Vincent , George The Salon

I’ve been red for over a year now so the last time I was in I wanted to make a little change without going too drastic. We all know the age-old debate of BANGS.  Michelle convinced me to take the plunge and go with a longer bang. I’m happy with this option because I can still get them out of my face when I’m working out or sleeping. I think they add a stylish element to long hair that is mostly one length.

Nicole’s tips for maintaining vibrant color are: use a sulfate free shampoo, wash less often and get a gloss in between colors. If you are in the Chicago area you need to check out this salon! I promise you will love it as much as I do!

Remember when your mom would wear that gigantic visor to the neighborhood pool and you would think,

“I will never be old enough to wear something like that.”

Fast forward to 2018 where visors are making a huge come back. I love it when fashion becomes functional. Who wants all that extra sun?!  I get such a kick out of old school accessories made cool.

I am a simple gal most of the time when it comes to style. I remember back in the day when I worked for BCBG and they made us wear 3 layers. I stuck to the same combo of black pants, a cami and cardigan. What can I say, I was very adventurous back then!  To be honest 3 was 2 too many steps for me. I really like to throw things on and declare them styled. 1 and done.  That’s why i’m loving this Kenzo dress. The dress goes so well with a pair of booties, or sneakers for a more casual look. The Maje cropped leather jacket looks so cute over almost everything and it even fits my daughter. This is a staple in my closet that I will continue to wear through fall.

I’m also really hope this visor I’m wearing will embarrass my daughter one day!
