Am I the only one who gets off the plane in Los Angeles and immediately feels healthier? I have long had a love affair with Southern California but more specifically, Los Angeles. LA is where I earned my masters degree in psychology and made life long friends that still live there. One of my favorite movies of all time is Clueless. “Earth to Cher, Come IN Cher.” When I was teenager I would watch it over and over again to the point where I memorized every single word. I wonder what I would be doing had a dedicated that time to doing homework?!
Needless to say I try to find an excuse to get back there anytime I can.
A few weeks ago I was lucky enough to go on a sponsored trip with a couple of my girlfriends for Discover LA. We stayed a the beautiful Everly Kimpton hotel. I fell in love with this place the second I walked in. The interior is so well decorated and each of our rooms had an amazing view of the Hollywood sign. The staff is so friendly that the valet guy even let me snap some goofy pictures of the two of us. That’s a win in my book people!
The first day we arrived we hiked to the Hollywood sign. By hike I mean we drove up to the top and walked from our car to take a picture. Next time I definitely want to do the hike but we were very short on time. We did find this beautiful park to take some great photos!
Malibu is one of my favorite spots to visit when I’m in town. You can’t beat the beach and the wonderful restaurants along the coast. I dream of one day owning a home there lined up on the cliff and overlooking the ocean. Is Yolanda Foster’s house still for sale? A girl can dream right?
The highlight for me was definitely our meal at Nobu Malibu. The views of the ocean are amazing and the food is so fresh and delicious. My favorite thing to do is sit for hours with a glass of wine (ok, maybe 2) and eat with good company. This trip’s crew did not disappoint.
