Dope Ass Moms: Coco and Bonnie from Equilibria

I was first introduced to Coco Meers and Bonnie Knobloch at an event where they were showcasing their amazing CBD product, Equilibria. You can read more about how CBD has helped me, here.

I was so inspired by their knowledge of the product and their drive to help women struggle less in their daily lives. Of course, they are both amazing mama’s that are also killing it in business.  I love how candid they both were in their interviews about what they struggle with, but also how they are making it work every day.

I know you will be just as inspired by these ladies as I am! Read on to learn more about these fabulous ladies and my bonafide mom crushes.

BONNIE’S INTERVIEW

What is the best thing about being a mom?
The unprompted whisper in your ear “Mommy, you’re the best”

What is the hardest thing about being a mom?
It’s constant.

What habit do you hope to pass down to your kids?
Confidence

What habit do you hope to not pass down to your kids?
It is hard for me to REST and do nothing.

How have you changed since being a mom?
I cry at every movie. I totally turned into my own mother.

What are the three essentials you need every day?
Coffee, CBD, Wine

How has motherhood changed your career?
It has to be mission-driven. I want my career and time away from my kids to impact the world and ultimately my children and their generation.

How has your style changed since becoming a mother?
More concealer and larger sunglasses

Best advice you could give a mom with young kids?
Ask for help. We weren’t meant to parent in isolation. Find your village and lean into them.

How has your relationship changed with your own mother since becoming a mom?
The level of appreciation and awe for my mother has skyrocketed since being a mother. My mom had 6 kids with no drugs and always made raising kids it looks easy so clearly, I wanted 6 kids as well. Of course, that changed the second I had my own. My epidural didn’t work when I had my first baby and my mom was in the delivery room and I looked at her with amazement and asked her how on earth she did the 6 times? My mother is so calm and rarely ever yelled at us….that part I still have not mastered!

Do you have a favorite child?
This question cracks me up. It truly depends on who is listening to me the best that day. THAT is my favorite child. (wink) 🙂

What’s one way you hope to make an impact on your kids?
I want my kids to not be entitled and make everybody feel like somebody!

COCO’S INTERVIEW

What is the best thing about being a mom?
Presence. I can get very caught up in doing and being a parent makes me appreciate just being. So much happens in each little moment with them.

What is the hardest thing about being a mom?
Learning which battles to fight, and which to relinquish.

What habit do you hope to pass down to your kids?
Positivity and the belief that with hard work, they can fulfill their wildest dreams.

What are the three essentials you need every day?
8 hours of sleep. 1 strong latte. 20 mg of CBD.  With that concoction, I can literally do anything.

What late-night food do you crave?
Bourbon.

What do you do to relax?
Bourbon.  Just kidding. CBD. Just kidding. I was a ballet dancer through college so it took me a while to find my adult cardio jam, but I am really into cardio tennis these days.  With music blaring and short sprints of competition, it’s a perfect adrenaline jolt (without being too serious). When there’s time, I also value travel as the ultimate way to break the day-to-day mindset and re-charge.

How has motherhood changed your career?
I always joke (not really…) that my first child was my first startup, PrettyQuick.   When my water broke with Poppy (my oldest), I was (and continued) red-lining acquisition terms for PrettyQuick’s exit to Groupon. My Co-Founder thought I was nuts at the time, but I cared deeply about my team and our journey and wasn’t going to disappear just because I was having a baby (literally).  She arrived 24 hours later and
of course, I stepped away for some time to focus on becoming a parent, but as an entrepreneur, I feel lucky that life and work are so deeply connected.  One doesn’t start when the other ends. Having kids has added one more color to the palette, but I’m still painting up a storm.

Best advice you could give a mom with young kids?
Quality, not quantity. You can’t be everywhere and that’s OK.  Surround them with love and learning and smother them in kisses – and real listening – when you connect again at the end of the day.

If your life had theme music, what would it be?
I’m a child of the ’80s from Alabama so I’d like a sweet blend of 2000’s country and 80’s pop, please!

What’s your secret to being a dope ass mom?
Balance.  I don’t regret the time I spend away from my kids, investing in my career, marriage, and community.  I want my kids to know that I am multi-dimensional as they will be as they progress through life. My husband and I work very hard to make sure mornings, evenings, and weekends have ample downtime for true connection with our kids despite having busy, full lives.  When that balance gets out of whack, we recalibrate and make adjustments. Family first.

Nanny, hairstylist or chef? You can only have one life in.
Nanny, Hands down. Don’t know how we’d live without ours! (whose name is incidentally Coco, btw… go figure!)

How has having kids affected your relationship with your partner?
It’s much harder to relax and enjoy time as just a married couple, but we make extra special efforts to have a date night once a week and escape on the occasional sans kids vacay.

Coco was kind enough to extend a discount to my followers for Equilibria CBD. If you are interested in learning more, give it a try and use my code DOPEASSMOM for 15% off your first order!
