Welcome to our House Tour. People are always very curious about our house, so I decided to dedicate a post to it today. When we moved from our condo downtown we looked all over for the perfect house. After looking and looking we decided to make something fully our own and rehab a place from the 1880s. We teamed up with my favorite designer Summer Thornton to create this colorful, eclectic home for our family.
You can tell that I’m not afraid of color, or animal print. I love living in colorful spaces because it inspires me to be creative and to live out loud. Every room in our house tells a story and I love that about it. One of my favorite things about our house is that we tried to keep the old world feel while still making it modern and updated. Even though we added on quite a bit to the back of the original structure, it feels like it could have been that way forever. I made some minor changes since living here, like changing up the paint color in my closet. Originally I thought black was a great idea, but because of the lack of natural light I decided to go pink. Although in some ways it’s much more difficult to rehab a house then build new, there’s something very rewarding about knowing we preserved a piece of history. It was definitely a labor of love (and hate) and in the end it’s so rewarding to know I live in something that I poured my heart into.
I hope you love it as much as we do!
